Director of Finance/Controller Profile:
An excellent opportunity for candidates with a successful track-record of leadership and financial operations management.  We are conducting the Director of Finance/Controller search for Money Hill Plantation and Money Hill Golf & Country Club, an extraordinary private club and gated community located in Abita Springs, Louisiana.  This is an opportunity for the new Director of Finance/Controller to transition with the club and plantation to help focus on creating value and ensuring financial strength and operational efficiencies.

Director of Finance/Controller Position Summary
  • Responsible for Money Hill Plantation’s financial operations and associated reporting in all business matters of the company, including Money Hill Real Estate, MH Golf & Country Club, Plantation Operations and Fairway Office Park. 
  • The Director of Finance/Controller works with the Plantation President and Club General Manager to develop financial and administrative policies and coordinate accounting, auditing of Money Hill, budgets, insurance, taxes and related activities and records; develops, establishes and administers procedures and systems pertaining to financial matters.
  • Prepares monthly financial packets for dissemination to the Board of Directors, President and Club General Manager and Department Heads respectively, as well as operating budgets and financial forecast and analyses for all administrative and managerial functions.
  • Maintains all accounting records; develops, analyzes and interprets statistical and accounting information; evaluates operating results for cost, revenues, budgets, policies of operation, trends and increased profit possibilities. 
  • Works closely with the President and as part of the team, developing strategic recommendations for the organization.
  • Executive Review of all Contracts and Agreements
  • Interfaces with title companies and agents in closings for Real Estate operation
  • Maintains commercial leases and interacts with tenants at Fairway Office Park
  • Works with accountants/auditors, insurance providers, outside contractors, government agencies, HOA manager and Secretary of State to insure Money Hill’s compliance and coverage in all professional and regulatory matters.
  • Works with foresters, Nature Conservancy and land management contractors to maintain the undeveloped acreage of the property.
Candidate Qualifications
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proven track record of working independently, as well as, within a team environment.
  • Courageous thought partner with President and Board of Directors.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.  The ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment.
Educational and Certification Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from a college or university; preferably with concentration in business or administration with accounting major or minor.
  • Five to Seven years of professional accounting experience with preferably two of those at the controller level or equivalent.
