DESCRIPTION:The Wednesday\, October 15th lunch meeting\, sponsored by Charter Business\, will feature Suzette Plaisance Bryan\, PhD\, SPHR\, GPHR.  Suzette  has an extensive background in human resources and corporate training and development.\n\n\n\nA Google search of Emotional Intelligence provides over 7\,000\,000 hits.  Obviously\, this is a hot topic\; but how can you separate the fact from fiction and what exactly is Emotional Intelligence?  \n\n\n\nSuzette will provide a brief overview of Emotional Intelligence and why it is important to workplace and life success.  You will take a short 10-question test to determine your emotional intelligence and learn why you should focus on developing this most important skill.  This presentation may challenge some of your ideas about success as well as provide you an outline to enhance competencies you may not know you needed.\n\n\n\n A former college professor\, she has presented at numerous conferences including international conferences in Athens\, Greece and Belfast\, Ireland\; her work has been published by the Consortium for the Study of Emotional Intelligence in Organizations. She recently published two book chapters and has had an article published in the International Journal of Diversity in Organizations\, Communities\, and Nations. Her recent contributions to the field of Pharma include hosting a webinar on neuroscience and culture\; and publishing an article in Focus magazine for the Society of Pharmaceutical and Biotech Trainers. She has taught organizational communication courses at the undergraduate and graduate level and is co-author of Scripts and Communication for Relationships published by Peter Lang Publishing. Presently\, she is employed as Senior Manager\, Organizational Training and Development at Nestle' Health Science in Covington\, LA where she develops and implements change initiatives and talent development programs. She is certified by the Hay Group in the administration of the Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (an Emotional Intelligence instrument) and recently received a Certificate of Distinction from the Neuroleadership Institute in the Foundations of Neuroleadership.
