Formerly City Court of Slidell, serving the residents of 8th & 9th Wards of St. Tammany Parish. Civil Jurisdictional limit = $50,000; Small Claims Limit = $5,000. The City Court of East St. Tammany handles both Adult & Juvenile Traffic violations; DWI 1st & 2nd Offenses; Adult Misdemeanors for both State & Municipal Code violations which include but is not limited to: Domestic Violence, Possession of Marijuana 1st & 2nd Offenses, Theft 1st & 2nd Offenses, and Simple Battery. The City Court of East St. Tammany also operates an Adult Misdemeanor Probation program and a Deferred Payment program. Additional matters before this Court include: Juvenile Felonies & Juvenile Misdemeanors; CINC (Children in Need of Care) matters; FINS (Families in Need of Service) matters; Adoptions; Evictions; Small Claims and Civil litigation. In addition to housing two courtrooms and Judge's chambers, the Courthouse also holds the offices of the City Marshal and the Clerk of Court.
