Start Corporation (Start), a Louisiana-based nonprofit agency, has more than 40 years’ experience providing housing, healthcare, and supportive services. Start has successfully established numerous programs providing healthcare, permanent supportive housing, rapid rehousing, evidence-based treatment programs, social skills training, residential services, Veteran services and peer-to-peer programming.

tart currently operates six Community Health Centers throughout Louisiana. These locations include Houma, Thibodaux, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Covington and Mandeville. Start Community Health Centers are accredited through the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). This system is a way of organizing primary care that emphasizes care coordination and communication to transform primary care into "what patients want it to be." Medical homes can lead to higher quality and lower costs. It can also improve patients and providers experience of care.
