With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, the Chamber and our Live Better
St. Tammany committee has joined forces with Covington Behavioral Health to discuss "Social Media and Your Mental Health."
Our keynote speaker, Mason Smith, LMSW, will speak about how social media utilization has led to a change in the mental health status of our nation. He will explain how recent research in the field has shown that using social media is influencing behaviors and changing our patterns of communication and perception.
Mason Smith, LMSW has been working in mental health since 2013 with the majority of his experience in inpatient psychiatric care. He has also worked for multiple community based mental health agencies across the state of Louisiana and in Bangor, ME. He obtained his MSW from Rutgers University, currently holds a LMSW and has started working towards his LCSW.
