Join us for our Sheriff Candidates Forum Luncheon, hosted in collaboration with the East St. Tammany Business Alliance. Hear directly from the candidates seeking to serve as St. Tammany Parish Sheriff as they respond to questions about issues important to our community and the responsibilities of the office.

The forum is an opportunity to learn more about them, their experience and how they would approach the role of St. Tammany Parish Sheriff as voters consider their choices in the November 3 election.

The following candidates are participating in the forum:

Robert Hodges
Robert Hodges is a candidate for St. Tammany Parish Sheriff with 31 years of law-enforcement experience with the Louisiana State Police. He served in various roles with the agency before being appointed Superintendent. Hodges holds a degree in Criminal Justice from LSU and previously served as an Intelligence Officer in the Louisiana Army National Guard.

Scott Illing
Scott Illing is a candidate for St. Tammany Parish Sheriff with 42 years of law-enforcement experience. He began his career as a reserve officer with the Covington Police Department and later served as a Louisiana State Trooper and as Supervisory Special Agent for U.S. Customs and Homeland Security Investigations. In 2018, he was appointed U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Louisiana, serving in judicial security, witness protection and fugitive apprehension.

David Maki
David Maki is a candidate for St. Tammany Parish Sheriff and a U.S. Army veteran with 20 years of service with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office. During his law-enforcement career, he served as a patrolman, SWAT team officer and bomb squad commander before retiring as a lieutenant. Maki also served four years on active duty in the U.S. Army and one year in the Army National Guard.

Daniel Seuzeneau
Daniel Seuzeneau is a candidate for St. Tammany Parish Sheriff with more than 20 years of law-enforcement experience with the Slidell Police Department. During his career, he has served as a patrol officer, detective, major case sergeant, SWAT hostage negotiator, Chief Administrative Officer and Interim Chief of Police. Seuzeneau holds an MBA from Louisiana Tech University.
