Less than 6 months after taking office, Sheriff Randy Smith will give the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce members an update on the transition and future plans for the St. Tammany Sheriff's Office.
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff, Randy Smith, is a Slidell native and a member of law enforcement for over 20 years. In May 2010, Randy Smith ran for and was elected the Slidell Police Chief with over 60% of the votes. After many successful years as the Slidell Police Chief, Randy Smith ran for St. Tammany Parish Sheriff. He was able to beat out the 20 year incumbent with 52% of the votes. Randy Smith took office July 1st, 2016 as the 42nd Sheriff of St. Tammany Parish.
