Kent Design Build has completed its 2025 Summer Internship Program, giving four students a twelve-week, hands-on experience that connected classroom learning with real-world construction. Interns Drew Milton (Louisiana Tech University), Cole Casey (Southeastern Louisiana University), Aubrey Posey (Southeastern Louisiana University), and Chase Homes (Louisiana State University) worked alongside project managers, superintendents, and field crews, gaining skills, mentorship, and clarity about their future career paths.Kent Design Build invests in future leaders through summer internship program
The program concluded with capstone presentations where each student reflected on growth, challenges, and goals. For Darby Frugé, Director of Project Management, the results spoke volumes. “They exceeded expectations,” Frugé said. “Their effort and insight affirmed the value of mentorship and real-world exposure in shaping tomorrow’s builders.”
Over the summer, students engaged in bid days, site visits, plan reviews, and utilized several construction technologies, bridging theory with practice. Collectively, the group gained sharper technical skills, stronger confidence, and a deeper understanding of the construction industry.
Frugé emphasized that the impact extends beyond the students. “Every project manager, superintendent, and field crew who welcomed interns into the workday turned a summer job into a life-shaping experience,” she said. “That investment strengthens both our people and our future.”
