SBAC Seminar- "Social Media Hazards"

The Internet and its wealth of information (especially on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter) offer an incredible amount of personal data about both job applicants and a company's current employees. Should employers seek out this information prior to making employment-related decisions (such as hiring, corrective action, termination, etc.) -- or do the risks outweigh the rewards?

Please join us on July 17 when our Small Business Advisory Council hosts "Legal Hazards of Social Media", designed to help employers make informed decisions with regard to social media. The seminar presentation will specifically address the following topics and offers suggestions for employers facing the latest challenges of the virtual world:  Monique Doucette

  • Different types of technology and social media
  • Benefits/pitfall of using social media in making employment based decisions
  • Legal updates and interesting cases that have come up on this issue
  • Practical tips and best practices as it relates to social media use in the workplace
This event, for business owners and managers, will feature guest speaker Monique Gougisha Doucette, shareholder and employment litigator at Ogltree Deakins in New Orleans. Register today as space is limited.

Refund/Cancellation Policy: Registrations are non-refundable unless canceled at least 24 hours in advance. Please leave a message if calling after hours or send an email to info@sttammanychamber.org. A "no show" is obligated to pay the full event fee.
