Warehouse Distribution Coordinator - Northshore Food Bank

General Description:
This job involves managing food product inventory, from ordering to receiving purchased and donated food products. It includes tasks like receiving, sorting, and storing products. You'll also need to keep clean, organized records, coordinate food distribution, and supervise/manage volunteers. Additionally, you'll be responsible for operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and organization vehicles, as well as maintaining equipment and facilities.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Staff & Volunteers:
Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and participants.
Provide guidance to ensure safe work practices.
Train new volunteers and assign regular tasks.
Communicate volunteer needs to colleagues.
Assist with special events in the warehouse.
Other duties as assigned.
 
Food Inventory:
Receive, sort, and stock food supplies.
Maintain food safety certification and share this information with volunteers.
Distribute inventory as needed to keep enough food on the packing line.
Ensure proper box and pallet weights for participants.
Substitute products when there are shortages.
Keep accurate and timely records.
 
Operations:
Safely use company equipment and vehicles.
Drive company vehicles for food distribution and pick up.
Train volunteers and employees to use company equipment and vehicles.
Report maintenance needs on the campus, like painting or light carpentry.
Maintain a clean and organized warehouse with safety in mind.
 
Other duties as assigned.
 
 
 
 
Skills and Knowledge:
Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
Safely drive company vehicles, forklifts, and warehouse equipment.
Show empathy and be considerate of others' needs.
Plan and prioritize tasks.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and email systems is a plus.
 
Qualifications:
High School or GED diploma.
2-5 years of warehouse experience.
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand, sit, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
No recent history of DUI or drug convictions.
Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
